Scott,

You probably will need to run the opener a few inches down the track with the 
motor, stop it, and then re-engage the pin there. At the stop there generally 
is some "interference fit" issues. I had the same problem.

This should be simple, I'd think. The power went out last week at the house. I 
pulled the cord on the opener to release it from the carriage on the track. Now 
I can't get it to re-engage. 

I'm starting to worry myself a little but--I can rebuild an engine, but I can't 
swap the face shields on my Arai, and I can't re-engage a garage door.
