In the clutches of death...

Why is it that everybody is working on spitfire clutches right now?

I started my "simple" clutch job just over two weeks ago (Only have time to work
for a few hours in the evening). I had problems jacking the engine up high
enough.
I had problems getting the transmission back on (My transmission had popped out
of
gear, thanks to those who answered on that one), and last night we found we
couldn't
disengage the clutch. We tracked that problem down to a frozen slave cylinder.
After taking out the slave and tapping it lightly it freed. As soon as we
refilled
the system and put some pressure on, the pipe burst, just behind the slave.
No being blessed with a pipe cutting and flaring equimpent, I must wait a few
days
for my good mechanic friend to come over for an afternoon.

Sorry, just had to vent.
