I am fed up with how tatty my car is looking, rust is poking through, you
can see the original paintwork under where the yellow is pealing off, it's
not all the same colour yellow etc. So in a couple of months time I am
going to paint it. Problem is lack of funds...

I can't spray it my self because you can't buy the paint in the UK under new
Government regulations. I think they may even be EU regulations so Europe
is out. Or does anyone know of any sprayable paint I can buy in the UK.

A professional respray is out because it costs too much.

I do have time and elbow grease..

So my idea was to sand, then apply Finigens 151 Zink primer with a gloss
roller. Then I was going to pick my favourite shade garage door paint, and
apply with said gloss roller.

This will produce a MAJOR Orange peal effect, but it will look tidy all the
rust will be fixed.

I know that I can avoid runs or other blemishes and get a perfectly smooth
orange peel from when I did the garage door.

One thing though, will it stand up to the rigours of sticking onto my
Spitfire when it's doing 1000+MPH and will it resist rust and salt as much.

Will I need to prime with 151 Zink primer then a gloss primer then the gloss
paint.

This is a get me working patch, I'll paint it properly when I have made my
millions in the computer industry.

I'm Just after comments of if you think it will work!
