I read this report talking about the different kinds of tape, and seeing if
the all hallowed duct tape is all it's cracked up to be, and the results of
the testing was quite surprising. The duct tape they used under simulated
conditions of, well, actual duct taping, became brittle and leaky when
exposed to the temperature ranges normally subjected to in home heating and
cooling over their tests, whereas the other tapes they used did not suffer
these same problems. I'll try to actually find my source for this again,
but it is from a legit source (seems I'm always looking for sources, isn't
it?). Maybe good old dt isn't all it's cracked up to be...
