Leon,

Sorry, I'm not a gearbox specialist, but I'll try to help anyway. Have I
understood you correctly - when the car is in 2nd gear it doesn't move (kind of
like it's in neutral)?

In that case, try this. Put the gearbox into 2nd, then remove the top cover.
Now, turn the input shaft and see what is/is not moving. You should be able to
figure out what the problem is from there. Good luck!

     Hi Gearbox specialist,

Well, I have rebuild the gearbox this weekend. I have replace every thing
new if possible starting from the bearing up to the screws. When finished I
tried putting it in the different gears. It is going like a dream in the 1,
3, 4 gear put not nothing in the 2nd.

I have check every thing.

Ok, I have not left something out of the gearbox - Clean the garage for
that.

Can anybody please give me advice on what to look for.

I must mention this is a Spitfire MK1 gearbox no.
FC 38425.

I would really appreciated it because of all the effort I put in to this.

Keep me busy the whole long weekend and still no light has come up to
explain why.

Thank for all you expert advice!!
