Hi Dave,
I just redid the panels on my '71. If the panels haven't totally
disintegrated, but are basically bent, etc., trace them on a thin piece of
masonite or paneling of some sort. I used 1/8" paneling & cut to fit. The
vinyl should come off pretty easily with needle nose pliers & a little care.
Coat the panel with some type of sealer (polyurethane, etc.), cut some .05"
foam to fit, glue it down, & re-staple the fabric. I couldn't believe that
it was really this simple, & the difference that it made in the appearance!
