Hi Folks
Last week or so I responded to a message about hesitation / missing on
acceleration, someone else had recommended a new coil, so I went and got one
and the problem worsened, this lead me to 2 conclusions,
One, I had not found the fault,
Two, coils do get weaker with age.
I put the cap rotor arm and leads from my other car on the faulty one and
hey presto the fault vanished. The cap and rotor arm are nearly new so I
don't think they are to blame. Me thinks new leads are required, is 33 years
a bit early to replace leads? They are the Rists Suppression as supplied new
on the car, though they may not be the original set!
