My Haynes manual says that I should renew the bolts on the connecting rod
big-end. Although, they are not ultra expensive ($6.95 per for a total of
$55.60 plus S & H) that seems like a lot of money to spend when I have
plenty of used bolts. The eight from the motor I'm working on and eight
from the one I took out of the car.
Is this a good expense? How often do those darned bolts give out anyway?
