Gear Lube

The input shaft of the tranny does not have a seal in the traditional sense.
It is actually an open ball bearing. Then on the bell housing there is a
tube where the input shaft goes that has deep threads cut so that the oil
has to wind around the deep threads to get out. Which it does not do
normally until you park it pointing down a steep hill or jack up only the
rear for some time. Something to think about the next time you are parking
in the hills or on a steep city street always park nose up.
As to the affect of oil on the clutch I have no experience with that.
