Apart from the previous posts on your request of places to see and go - you
should also consider the Brooklands Museum close to London.
Certainly visit Coventry Cathedral and if you want to position yourself as
close as possible to the former Triumph factory (where real Triumphs were
made until 1939) go into the Chapel of Unity alongside the new Cathedral.
You'll be as close to it as you can possibly get. New Cathedral leads off
the old. While in Coventry, get a taxi and ask the driver to take you to
Herald Avenue on the old Standard-Triumph factory site to see the ST
Memorial. Behind it is the only building left that used to be the Social
Club and known by all of us who worked there as "The Glue Pot." Look out for
the doggy doo on the grass surrounding it!
You'll be spoilt for choice in terms of miniature cars in the shop at
Gaydon. If they've sold out or have no stock of what you want when you
visit, you can order for it to be sent on to you. I guess you'll find
similar models in the museum in Coventry
As far as seeing a RHD Spitfire, visit the Triumph Sports Six website
www.tssc.org.uk It's big, user friendly and you'll probably be able to get
someone to put you in touch with a group in an area wherever you'll be to
attend a pub evening. That way, you'll see plenty of RHD Triumphs and you'll
certainly have the chance to enjoy 'warm' English beer.
Enjoy
