Yes, block the back of the engine.  A stack of bricks or wood will suffice.

Remove both seats and take the tranny out the passenger side.  The 4speed isn't 
bad.  An overdrive box is quite a bit heavier.  Both come out fairly easily, 
particularly if you're willing to ignore ergonomically correct lifting 
procedures and just lean over and grab the thing.
