What was the brass eating component of the transmission oil we are supposed to
avoid in Spitfires? Would a squeeze tube of EP90 oil, intended for outboard
motor transmissions and no contents description on the tube, eat the front
trunnions?

I have to take the front suspension apart again, one of the front axles I
chose was a bad choice. I remembered the brass eating oil conversations. I
think I will use some grease a farmer recommended instead of EP90, in the
front trunnions. He said it didn't harden up in his combine bearings like the
old grease he used previously.

The parts stores don't carry much EP90 anymore, it's all 80-120 or something.
