I haven't found that scenario in my ventures with VB. However, I too try to
avoid them if at all possible. My complaint is their shipping charges
policy. They charge shipping based not on the weight or size of the item
but rather the value of it.
So if you order something that is one inch square and weighs 2 ounces but
costs 300 bucks, you are likely to be charged 30 dollars shipping even
though it costs 3 bucks to ship.
Go figure!

Since buying a Spitfire I have had to buy parts on line like most everyone
else. Of all the suppliers I have dealt with MOSS, SpitBits, BPNorthwest I
have been extremely satisfied. I thought that by going with a supplier
closer to home I might be able to get my parts just a little quicker but
what a surprise to discover that they would be the slowest most incompetent
parts house around. I ordered my parts, paid with credit card and after a
week of not getting my parts I called and was informed that my shipment was
still sitting in the warehouse. The clerk gave me the "oh, we'll get it
shipped tomorrow" story and you should have the parts by the end of the
week. I asked what reason the shipment was delayed and was not given an
answer. I told the clerk the parts and shipping had have already been paid
and that I needed my parts as soon as possible.
If you want you're parts in a reasonable amount of time, go through MOSS,
SpitBits or BPNorthwest, they ship when the order is received. Victoria
British is a Kansas based parts house, I could have walked to Kansas and
back to Oklahoma in the amount of time they have delayed my parts shipment.
They have lost this customer.
