Lets remember that the camber compensator *is* a darn good device for early
fixed spring Spitfires. It works well.

Lets also remember that Joe makes them to fill a need. For not that long
ago, if you wanted a camber compensator, you were pretty much out of luck.
Some of you folks have been around long enough to remember the conversations
we'd have about making due without a camber compensator. Things like trying
to run cables over pulleys attached to shock mounts, tieing the axles to the
frames to prevent droop, etc. It wasn't pretty.

Joe regularly posts on the Spitfires of the era he knows best, the early
ones. He's provided a lot of good information and help on them.

Joe also maintains that registry list of Spitfires. That's provided free to
the world. It's certainly not free to his wallet.

You don't have to agree with Joe about how wonderfull life would be for
square tail owners if only they'd get rid of their swing spring and install
a fixed spring and camber compensator. But his conviction on that point
doesn't make him a commercial troll or a single subject spammer.
