I have no problem with someone trying to sell parts lying around or
helping get the right parts to get a dead car running.

I would have a problem with a vender using a blanket message listing
everything they have for sale.  But then, I wouldn't have a problem if
they put out a short message saying that they are having a sale, and to
contact them for specifics.

Let's not let this run outta control.   If you watched the MG
discussion, only a handful of people objected to the way it was
handled.  They just were very LOUD objections.
