Fellow Spridget Folk:

I just got back home from a long day working on the house I am trying to
buy (with 2-car garage soon to be Midget shop) and thought I would come
in to read and enjoy the day's Spridget mail.

To my dismay, there are already people downing cars they don't like.
Can any of you honestly say that the '75-'79 midgets are any less a
Spridget than the earler ones? That is the most ridiculous horsesh*t I
have ever heard! What makes your pre-'75 cars so much better? I
mean..you say... "chrome" and "1275" and blah blah. So what? I like
rubber and 1500 engines. And one carb. They are the same car! the same
body. the same everything. But the later cars have a bigger engine
(with ANY other car, a bigger engine is a BETTER thing...but NOOOO...not
with midgets...it means they are LESS a car according to some of you).
And safer bumpers. That some people happen to like.

I got off the MG list so I didn't have to listen to this cr*p, and
thought this would be a friendly environment. I ask you to please stop
this nonsense and just enjoy your car for what it is...a car!

I look forward to learning from the list, and contributing what I can.
But the last thing I want to hear is bad mouthing of the cars I have
come to know and love. I won't talk about the wimpy smaller engines
that can't go over 55 on the highway if you won't talk about my 1500
that can cruise at 85 mph for 8 hours and get 32 mpg, only stopping for
gas.
