A popular conversion over here is the toyota 4AGE motor. It fits with only a
small
bonnet bulge and if you choose the right toyota gearbox fits without tunnel
modifications.

I personally don't like the idea of butchering the cars, but if you are
going to do it,
the 4AGE results in a well-balanced car that fits relatively easily. One of
our club
members did the entire conversion in about a week after his expensive race
motor blew up for the nth time. His car is almost as fast (with a 16 valve
4AGE)
as it was with a top race-prepped 1275 motor (big bore and stroker gave it
1440cc.
It was arguably the 2nd most powerful race motor in these parts).

Jeff says he could refit the A series motor relatively easily if he chose
to. I doubt this
will be true with the V6 conversion and it isn't really true of the rotary
conversion either.
