1 Liter is 1.0567 US liquid quarts.  Therefore 5 liters is 5.2835 quarts.

That sounds like a lot of oil.  Do you have an oil cooler?  A HUGE filter?
A hollow crank?

My 1275 takes around 4 quarts.
