This past weekend I took the Sprite out for the first spirited driving
session of the year. All went well but while doing the post-drive under
bonnet check I noticed a buildup of brake fluid on top of the master
cylinder and the sides were moist. It has never done this before. Could it
just be a cap that no longer seals properly? The cap is a VB replacement
which is plastic. When I looked in the Moss catalog there is a washer that
goes in the cap. My cap doesn't have this washer. Could it be that simple
(please oh please)? I really like the paint around my MC and have
nightmarish visions of opening the bonnet only to see the paint all
bubbleing. I bled (bleeded?) the system over the winter and made
sure not to overfill the MC. The brakes and clutch are fine while driving.
I haven't noticed any difference in performance. Any similar experiences
out there?

Also, does anyone know where to get a repo of an original metal
cap? Couldn't find one in the big 3 (VB, Moss, Mini mania).

TIA,
Jim Rowan
