It is possible the valve stuck open, allowing the pushrod to come out of its
socket.
Just my 2 bits worth.

Subject: Scary Day with the rebuild

Hi everyone......

Bedded in the new cam on Sunday after total everything rebuild. Every thing
goin fine until today. Starting out from a red light .... Wham .... Pop, Pop,
Pop.
Shut it down quickly. Took off the valve cover and there it was... a pushrod
off the rocker. The valve adjuster nut was tight. Any sugesstions ??? When
we adjusted the valves, I was sure that one was adjusted !!! It only had 23
miles since the rebuild !!!

Thanks,
Mike
