Hi-temp matte black is great for air-cooled engines, radiators, and
oil-coolers.  It helps them radiate heat.  However, since the heat shield
is supposed to protect the carbs from exhaust heat, it seems that silver
or another light colour would be ideal.

David, if you were serious, please let me know why you think black would
be better than silver in this application.
