List,

I got new ARP rod bolts for my 1275 rebuild. Some of the old rod bolts
required a bit of banging to get them out. Now, I can only fit 2 (of 8)
new rod bolts into their bores with hand pressure. It is clear that a
portion of the body is wider in order to securely locate the 2 halves of
the rod to each other.

Should it be this difficult to fit the bolts?

I believe I could fit them easily using temperature tricks, but I need to
know if this close fit is normal or not. I worry that the rod may be
deformed and that the bore has become slightly bent. Is this possible?
I really don't think I can afford new rods!

On a pleasant note, my rods have been balanced my a PO! The machining is
evident and they all weigh the same to tenths of an ounce.
