        AH HA. I think you've hit on it! That fuel gauge, BF2300/02 is for MGBs.
For the Sprites it should be :
MK1 FG2530/31,  MK2 FG2530/64, MK2 1098cc FG2530/70 , MK3 ,4  FG2530/70.
