        Yes, most alternators do not come with pulleys for a variety of reasons,
one of which is the multi-fit nature of that alternator. (this is true of
many other alternators) That way we don't have to stock different SKUs for
options like w/ or w/o air or ps, etc. that would get very expensive.
HOWEVER, they should have told you that you'll need to remove your old
pulley and fan first or pony-up the core charge. We try to remember (but we
forget too) (we also are capable of changing them for customers and often
do.... at no charge) I actually prefer removing the pulley/fan and
installing it on the new unit at the same time... then you can check the
spacing of the pulley.

2) is my method of removing the fan the right way to go?
        I would take it to a local garage with whom you have a relationship. If
you don't have one of those... find one. You'll need one/them sooner or later.

        No, the split lock washer and the key and the nut that SHOULD have been
supplied is sufficient. Be sure to have the garage (with the impact wrench)
re-install it for you. Hand tight won't do! (ask my TR6 customer from last
week)
