British brakes don't require special brake fluid (excepting Rolls Royces)
rather that they don't like special fluid - the silicone stuff.

Any conventional DOT 3 fluid will be fine. If you work the brakes hard it is
worth using a DOT 4 fluid which ultimately is less kind to the seals but
unless you use your car as a taxi/mini cab this is unlikely to be a problem.

When bleeding the brakes after a major overhaul go round the system twice -
firstly starting with the slave cylinder furthest from the master and then
vice versa (one way is sure to be correct!). Frequently check the level of
fluid in the master and only top it up with new fluid. Even with one of the
many single use and easy bleed kits available I would reccomend an assistant.

The other q's you posed should be in the workshop manual.
