Folks,
As I was reading along this thread Monday morning, there seemed to be
some
problems with part names which, along with no indication of the year of the
car, could lead to some confusion. If we are speaking of kingpin bushings,
then disc brake cars do have a reaming tool and is quite easy to do and
many old Brit repair shops will still have one around. The drum brake
kingpin bushing-reaming is a bit dicier and the recommendation to Merryman
Mods is a good one. I think, however, Gary was speaking of trunion
bushings... the upper at the shock arm on top of the kingpin. I see that
Moss has a marking next to that part in their catalog which looks
suspiciously like the other marking for kingpin bushings and their footnote
regarding the reamer. Anyway, Gary, if you are doing the upper trunion
bushings you do not need any special tool outside of some rust spray,
patience, and sometime heat.
