Chuck

The UC is an export to North America code.
As for the rest of the chassis ID, (from memory here, my book is out on
loan so I/m sure if I make a mistake soome one will correct it)

G= MG  (Spries are H for Healey)
A= Austin engine
N= 2 seat tourer
5= fifth in the model line (Midgets as we know them started at #3)
L= left hand drive (up to 69 or 70)
U= export to N America (70 onwards)
C= I forget (possibly month of production)
#= The actual production number
