     Listers,

Please someone give me the real procedure on removing the rear brake
shoes properly on a '62 Sprite. Also the reassemble process. The
HAYNES manual talks about "pivot posts" and "depressing each of the
shoe steady springs", "adjuster and mask" etc. etc.

The exploded view of the rear brake assembly doesn't identify any of
these terms or parts in the assembly.

I want to get the shoes off, clean everything real good, put in a
cylinder kit and replace new shoes correctly.

By the way, on the left rear (only side I have exposed currently) the
bottom spring is attached on the OUTside across the shoes. Pictures
I've seen show this spring on the INside of the shoe towards the
backplate. Did DPO put it on wrong?

Any guiding light help to make this rear brake shoe extraction and
reassemble go smoothly without bleeding tooooo much would be
appreciated. I know once I do it right with the experts help and
guidance on tricks, I'll never forget.

     TIA,

     Dave
