It's not that late a Midget - only a '74 (no elec
ignition).  The resistance wire quit several years ago
(symptom: kept frying coils) and, on the advice of the
tech advisor of the local MG club, I wired in the
Chrysler one.  This has worked for the last five or so
years with no problem.
