     Hello Listers,

Again I must tap the wealth of knowledge available to answer a
question from the DCO. (dumb current owner, but getting much smarter
by the day with all your help and guidance)

I have a Weber downdraft carb on my 1275 and it is in need of an
overhaul because it is leaking gas and I don't want a fire. It's not
a major leak but needs attention.

I've looked all over this carb for a number to identify what style,
series or model it is and there is nery a identifier anywhere on it
that I can find. I've even used small mirrors to look all over. (Unit
     is still on the car)

I want to get a "rebuild kit" from the local auto supply house but
don't I need to know more than "I have a Weber downdraft carb",
"Please give me a rebuild kit for it".

By the way, is this a relatively easy job for a person who really
knows nothing about carberation? Should I farm this job out to a pro?

     Thanks for all comments,

     Dave
