it was hot! sweaty! and like my private sauna! made first run(a little too
fast) as a touring run. second run was a "banzai"run. got all out of shape
on the corners and slid out of the 90 degree climbing left hander. man does
that stone wall(side of the mountain) come up fast....and i WAS close! i
had a great run but was running a little hot at the top. when i got to the
pits it was running ok but oil pressure gauge showed 20 lbs. hot at idle.
this is way below my hot idle pressure(60 wt. racing oil). so i decided to
put it on the trailer and do an oil change and remove the oil pressure
bypass relief valve to check for a broken spring or dirt on seat? if this
is not the fix......then an engine-ectomy is in order. hey what the heck,
it didnt spew connecting rods all over the course and stiull runs. this
engine is capable of 12,000 rpm and do not choose to blow it due to my
desire to continue before i do the exploratory checking. who knows ?
running pocono with my saab powered sports racer next weekend. sprite is
much more reliable! chuck.
