in the dave bean engineering catalog there is an amazing tech. note relating
to soft mounts. they admit that those pesty springs are weak and relax over
what seems a short time. and the rubber grommets deteriorate from exposure
to fuel. their fix is to use the springs on the lower 2 studs since they
will not be exposed to holding up the weight of the carb. then use the
rubber grommets on the top since they are stronger than the spring and on
top not exposed to fuel leaks. combination makes sense but requires
purchase of both hardware sets (individual pieces avail seperatly) wich
yields a complete spare set of 2 springs and 2 grommets. just an
interesting view on the mater
