Antique registration will vary from state to state.  Call the NJ DOT office 
and ask them to send you the full info on registration and the form.  Don't 
assume that it is the same as any other state.

Before you change, why not do a complete tune up, adjust the valves, lean out 
the carb, and hope for the best.  The new emissions inspection is good for 2 
years in Jersey.  You just might pass.
