It is indeed a sickness.
I bought my first Sprite (a 67) off my dad in 1972, he bought it in
1969.
Parts of it are still in use on PIECES, my Wife's Spridget and the
chassis ID is from that 67 Sprite.
It has been on the road except for an occasional repaint since I owned
it.
I have gone thru 42 Spridgets since that first one and I was never
without one on the road.
Today I have only 2 on the road, a racer in the driveway that my son and
the a few of his buddies are working on, a couple of MKIII parts cars
and I am going to look at a 69 Sprite this weekend.
When my girlfriend turned 17, I gave her a Sprite for her birthday, she
is now my wife of 2 years and still drives one. When we had kids, we
would take both Sprites, each with one kid for our journey.
Both my kids started out driving LBCs, my son had a 63 Mini woody wagon
that was a father/son restoration, he sold out to a VW but still takes
one of our Sprites many Saturday nights. Some day he will finish the
Racer for his own.
My daughter just started driving this summer and has an Austin A40, it
is her only means of transportation and she loves her car as long as
nothing is broken on it like the axle she snapped a few weeks ago.

In the mid 70s I was selling foriegn car parts, I know Beck Arnley and
Vera, and let's not forget Kingsborne.
So I have had a Sprite since 1972, my dad had a TR3 before he bought
that Sprite in 69, Once I had his Sprite, he bought an Austin America.
Today he drives a Minivan but he still hunts for Spridget stuff for me
on ebay and flea markets.
