I presume that you are pointing out that all the references to the bugeye
(when it was new) were "Austin Healey Sprite" because the first use of the
term "Mark" was when the "all new Austin Healey Sprite Mk II" was released!
So, us bugeye owners can claim exclusive use of the name "AH Sprite" without
a "Mark" suffix.
No more stinkin' Mk 1 designation! :-)
