My (Bugeye) Sprite owner manual title page says Austin Healey Sprite (no
reference to MKI) However my hardbound BMC service manual for the 1st
generation Sprite does have "Mark I" in the title as do issue references at
the bottom of of the pages, i.e. "Austin Healey Sprite. Mk. 1 Issue 3.
35471". So, official publications did use this reference, but likely not
until the Mark II came out. Unfortunately, the copyright page is missing so
I don't know the publication date (damn it). However, all of the photos and
illustrations (all RHD, BTW) are of the Bugeye only. Keep in mind neither
"Bugeye" or "Frogeye" appears in any official publications at all.
