Re: carbs (I think)

Steve,
  Check your vacuum advance line for leaks and the vacuum advance unit.  When 
you removed your carbs for rebuilding, you may have accidentally plugged or 
loosened your vacuum advance system.  Since the SU carbs have no accelerator 
pump, you could get the symptoms you describe.  Did you remove your 
distributor at the same time?  It sounds more like a timing problem.
