Paul, Factory would be a white/grey color. Sloppy is about right, if it
had a number on the top of the adapter (center part) in pencil and the
white/grey that would be dealer repaired ( I think). Most shops will mark
the trans somewhere. Best thing to check are the slots on the three screws
on the adapter for use. The problem is there are only two ways to know if
the 5-speed is any good. Open it or drive it!
