I spoke to Janspeed about the whole issue of exhaust wrap and they advised me
that while exhaust wrap did work - it also considerbly shortened the life of
the manifold. Peter Burgess (MGB tuner and author) did not find that the
exhaust wrap did work for his engines but did warp the manifold such that it
was scrap. My research with exhaust manifolds and temperatures led me to
conclude that Stainless steel was not the best material to use for the
manifold.

A turbo exhaust manifold is generally made of a different alloy than ordinary
exhaust manifolds in order to withstand higher temperatures. I got the
impression that your turbo installation is not an off the shelf package.

Why not try it and give the list monthly mileage updates on how it is holding
out, along with the turbo bearings?

BTW I still agree with Ed on this one <G>
