  Here is a sure fire way to get those bastards off.
The Metalastic suspension bushing are just that, rubber bonded to
steel.
Frequently they become "bonded" to the pivot bolt that attaches it to
the car frame. You can pound the dickens out of them and damage the
mounts or, after a bit of judicious hammering, give up and use a
hacksaw blade and sever both ends, thereby releasing the control arm
and limiting the damage that you would otherwise have done. Sure you
need to get new pivot bolts, but chances are that you would have
needed them anyway. So plan ahead , when undertaking this type of job
, and have a spare bolt , or two, on hand at the outset. Don't sweat
the damage to the mounts, if they are not too terribly damaged they
can be hammered back into shape. When you reinstall them, be sure to
use some anti seize on them first.
