The earlier cross flow cross over pipes had a drain plug in the center.
It worked fine. Later they eliminated it to save a buck.
Drill out the cross over pipe and thread it with a 1/8 pipe thread.
Install either a standard petcock or 1/8 pipe plug.
Drilling and tapping the radiator would require some reinforcment where
the threads will be going. Not a good idea unless you can braze in a
hunk of something to withstand the new threads and plug.
