My main car just went to all zeros this past Sunday, now it's counting past
600,000. I will admit that about 10 years ago I replaced the rack. Had
some play in the straight ahead position!

Paul,
It would appear that grease is definitely not the way to go. The ultra
high
viscosity of grease is causing excessive structural stress and premature
e-failuration.
How many miles on your car(s) now Paul?
