I suggest you do all the prep work your self. Then go talk to Macco or Earl.
Tell them what your after. They use the same paints that the 2k guys does,
They spray cars all day, and It takes very little paint for a sprite. The
reason the $199 jobs suck is the lack of good prep. I've seen cars that they
didn't even wash first...

 I did this at "Miracle" a local Earl clone.  I told the painter that I'd
slip him a fifty if it didn't have any runs. For $400 out the door I got
three coats of color, door jams, both sides of boot and bonnet. It's not
concurs, But it's a whole lot better then I could do. I had only asked for
two coats of color, But he said he had mixed too much paint so he gave it
another shot for fun.

 Chose a bright color. It over whelms the eyes and hides bad body work.
