A couple of Q's about my apparently bad alternator.
What should the voltage read on the voltage reg pin which isn't the 12V
reference when the car's running?
What should the resistance be from the output to the casing? Are there
other
values I can check to see what's failed?
Right now, I know that it doesn't have anything on the output, 12V on
the
reference (R or S, depending on which book I have), and ~0.6V on the other pin
(L). I have effectively infinite resistance between the "L" and the "special"
pin on the casing of the alternator.
Obviously, this is an alternator which isn't in its original home.
        Thanks!
