Strange MGA Wheel

A couple of days ago I posted the following to the "Big" MG list and
got no answers. I apologize for hitting "our" list with it, but I
know there is someone with the answer on our more erudite and robust
group than dem guis.

Or am I not explaining this well?

Last week I had a flat on a recently acquired 1959 MGA (DPO had used
an oversized inner tube and it failed on one of the many creases) and
pulled out the spare. It is not a "nice" wheel, maybe that is why it
was the spare? While counting the loose spokes to be replaced, it
finally dawned on me that all the wheels on the car are "strange". In
looking at catalogs I am led to believe that the wheels for the MG TF
and the MGA are the same. My MGA wheels are all laced to the outside
rim, i.e. there are no spokes alternating to the center portion of the
rim. My TF wheels are "normal" in that they are laced to the outside
rim as well as the center rim. Wondering what's going on
here.........do I have some sort of aftermarket wheels on the MGA?
