Ah yes, sprites in the winter. When I turned a mature16 (in 1962) I got a '60
bugeye, Iris blue with a chrome luggage rack, it was wonderful. I met a girl
(Ellen
Montroy of Buffalo N.Y. at the time) who was 19. My first real relationship.
She
had her own apartment, I was in heaven and she thought I was very cool in that
bugeye. My memories among others have to do with bringing home a Christmas
tree for
her apartment, tied to the luggage rack of that bugeye, in traditional Buffalo
snow
(lots). That bugeye was a centerpoint of our relationship. I don't know if I
was
prouder of being seen in the car or being seen with her.

When Ellen was 20 she got a job in Iowa of all places and asked me to come with
her,
of course I couldn't as I was then all of 17, she never knew. and while I'd be
tickled to see her again, I'm now in my 50's . . . ehhh make that 37, and I'm
sure
she is gone forever, I loved her dearly at the time as only a 17 year old can
love.
And I think of her fondly. But today, I miss that old bugeye more.
