Ah, if you look at it again, you may find you are trying to undo the
whole pivot pin. (been there myself)
Unscrew the 9/16 nut, give it a shot or 2 of liquid wrench, wiggle the
chrome handle out of the pivot.

I tried clamping the pivot, it's hard to explain but easy to do wrong.
the nut comes off and the handle slides out of the pivot. JKust dont
clamp the pivot.
