Today was the second warm day in Toronto, and the Bugeye snapped
out of hibernation. Started and ran on the first crank!!! - no
Quick Start, no farting, no cussing.

Let's see, what's so different this spring.

1) New gas tank. Old one was OK, but found a new one cheap. Had to
weld in the drain plug and filler pipe (rubber hose not concours).
Also, beware these NOS or repro tanks have raised top panel
sections (later models?) and the original Bug tank top is totally
flat. Didn't see that till reinstalling, then had to get slightly
creative.

2) Rebuilt an original fuel pump to replace an aftermarket. After
a long storage spell that manual priming lever is indispensable.

3) Paid utmost attention to all possible fitting leaks in the
whole fuel delivery system. The rebuilt fuel pump bench tested OK,
but did not suction hang for very long off my tongue - proceeded
to find an otherwise undetectable leak between the gasketed top
cover and main body.

4) Last year started tweaking the distributor forward from the
timing light spec. Many turns with the micro adjuster later - no
pinging and temp a bit cooler.

Will play some more with timing and carbs. Very mortivated.
