Well, I *finally* got the new top put on! Had it laying around here since
early April, but been trying to get the frame cleaned up and painted. It's a
Prestige in Superior Vinyl. Seems very nice going on - good fit. I was a bit
apprehensive about doing this job, but it was really pretty simple! My wife
helped when it came time to pull it forward and glue it to the header rail,
but it would have been nice to have had a third person there - one pulling
on each corner and one moving from side to side checking to make sure it was
even. But it turned out fine anyway. Nature didn't waste time putting it to
the test either. Literally as soon as I had closed the door and put down my
tools there came a *torrential* rain, complete with 1/4"+ hail! Didn't last
long - one of those sudden cloudburst things. But enough to get a bit of
water on the carpet. But that was happening even with the hardtop on.

I also have some leaks around the windshield seal. I have new glass and all
new seals, but I'm not ready to deal with it yet. I'm working on my "custom"
engine turned dash, and once that's done I'll swap out the dashes and take
care of the windshield at the same time. BTW, I've already done the engine
turning using the Eastwood 1" diameter kit on a piece of highly polished
stainless I picked up from some guy at Carlisle. Tedious work! But easy, and
the results were great. Now I just have to modify my (ex) padded dash, get
the new holes drilled in the stainless, and get it all together. Nothing to
it! ;-)

Incidentally, I found out yesterday I'm being laid off. Anybody need a
slightly used programmer? Will work for parts!
