BTDT.  I can't take credit for the following method - someone on this
List likely alerted me to it several years ago.  If you have a long
enough wrench, put it on the nut and rest it against the driver's side
interior fender (place a piece of wood between the wrench handle and the
fender).  Then turn the engine over using the most convenient method -
button on starter (if it has one) is best since you can keep an eye on
the wrench.  One quick shot should loosen the nut.

I didn't have a long enough wrench so I made one out of an old piece of
leaf spring.

Please take steps to ensure that the car doesn't start when you turn
over the engine.
